Goodyear Dunlop have announced that four of the most popular winter tyre patterns in their range have been awarded a Best Buy stamp of approval from the influential consumer magazine, Which?

The four tyres picking up a prestigious recommendation from the leading magazine are the Goodyear UltraGrip 8 (195/65 R15), Goodyear UltraGrip 7+ (205/55 R16), Dunlop SP Winter Response (175/65 R14T) (see image), and the Dunlop SP WinterSport 3D (185/65 R15).

The magazine tested over 65 winter tyres in six popular sizes across five parameters including price, dry and wet grip and performance in both ice and snow.

Both of the Goodyear products were praised for their outstanding performance in rain and icy conditions with the Goodyear UltraGrip 8 giving exceptionally good performance in snow and ice whilst maintaining excellent handling and grip in rainy weather. The Dunlop WinterSport 3D tyre was named a class leader on snow and in the rain scoring four stars for braking, traction and cornering, while the Dunlop SP Winter Response was applauded for it's great wet grip and handling.

In addition to being commended by Which?, Goodyear received praise from EVO magazine for the award-winning Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 tyre. John Barker commented, "The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 has few weaknesses. It is outstanding in the dry, recording the highest lateral G and shortest braking distance, and also very good in the rain, with near-table topping performance around the wet lap. And all of this with a remarkably low rolling resistance... A very good tyre."
