Tyre survey holiday warning

Sixty-three percent of motorists drive on under-inflated tyres and almost 20% have at least one tyre worn down below the EU legal minimum tread depth, according to the latest Bridgestone European tyre survey.

Careless driving penalties considered

The Government is consulting on new proposals to target careless drivers. If approved, the proposals will allow police to deal with less serious careless driving offences by issuing fixed penalty notices, or to offer educational training as an alternative to endorsement.
